Sher.ly in 5 easy steps

1. Create an organization

Register to Sher.ly! When creating a new account, you will be asked to enter a name for your first Organization. If you are invited to an existing Organization, it will be added to your account automatically.

Organizations are separated containers with dedicated devices, members and storage. You can have multiple Organizations and manage all of them with the same login and password.

Log in to your Sher.ly account online and download the desktop app.

2. Add a project

Add a new project or select an existing one. In each organization, you can create an unlimited number of projects. Each project can have custom settings and any number of users invited to collaborate on them.

Decide whether the project should be open to all the members of your Organization or available exclusively to selected people. Guests have access only to the projects to which they have been invited.

3. Add Collaborators

Invite users to join the created projects. You can select them from a list of Organization members or add new people by entering their email address. The person invited to the project will receive a notification email.

When you add new users, they will automatically be signed up as free “view-only” Guests. To upgrade their status, go to your Account settings and change their permissions. Read more about User status.

You can also import a complete list of contacts using Csv or Gmail import on your Sher.ly web account.

4. Add files

Add files or folder to the existing projects. Simply drag files into the dropzone or choose them from “add file” menu.

The file metadata that you share within the Project is automatically synced to other devices of projects members. The status of your files will change depending on the progress of the sync.

To download the file, double-click it. All downloaded data is automatically saved in a local Sher.ly folder.

5. Share & sync/chat & collaborate!

Use the Split Screen File Manager to improve your workflow. Browse and manage your files and chat with your team collaborators at the same time.

Device-to-device file transfer is encrypted using RSA 2048 bit keys and SSL TLS 1.2 connections with AES256 encryption. Sher.ly uses OpenSSL.
