Sherlybox: Hotspot Wi-Fi

Sherlybox V2 has been upgraded to support the new Wi-Fi configuration manager.

When Sherlybox detects that there are no networks available, this means that no Ethernet cable has been connected and that no known Wi-Fi network is in range. When this happens, it will launch its own Wi-Fi network named “Sherlybox Wi-Fi setup”. There is no password required and Wi-Fi is only available locally.

To tell your Sherlybox about your Wi-Fi setup, connect your computer or smartphone to this Wi-Fi network and you will be redirected to the Wi-Fi setup page:

To connect to your Wi-Fi network, simply select your network from the list of available networks and enter your Wi-Fi password. Please bear in mind that for this to work, the Sherlybox USB Wi-Fi module has to be inserted into one of the Sherlybox USB ports.

Sherlybox network manager is equipped with smart technology enabling it to select the fastest available connection.

  • If you connect a Gigabit cable, Sherlybox will disable Wi-Fi and switch to Ethernet. If the wired connection fails, Sherlybox will switch back to Wi-Fi again.
  • If you change your Wi-Fi settings, such as your username or password, Sherlybox will launch its own “Sherlybox Wi-Fi setup” network and wait for it to be configured.
